Lord Nick Markham, the Health Minister leading the New Hospitals Programme and officials running the programme visited QEH on Wednesday to talk about next steps in delivering the new hospital by 2030.
Just 10 weeks after the fantastic announcement that there will be a new hospital at QEH by 2030 they spent the entire day at the hospital looking around the site including seeing decant work due to RAAC, touring the Endoscopy Unit which is a modular build delivering in just 9 months, and reviewing plans for siting the new hospital on the car park.
It was a valuable opportunity for staff and patient representatives to ask questions and share ideas and input on the standardised Hospital 2.0 design which will deliver improved patient care, a better working environment, and harness digital technology. It will enable hospitals to be built faster and at better value for money.

“I have come here today to talk to the team about the NHP which King’s Lynn are an important part of. There is a buzz of excitement I have seen whilst I have been here, and as I was told there is a smile around every corner.”
