James has welcomed new local data shows that as of 14 March 45,877 people in North West Norfolk have had a vaccine - with over 25 million first jabs given in the first 100 days.
The figures show that the following groups have received at least one dose of vaccine:
- 6,913 over 80 year olds
- 5,253 75-79 year olds
- 6,761 70-74 year olds
- 5,869 65-69 year olds
- 5,883 60-64 year olds
- 3,896 55-59 year olds
- 11,302 under 55 year olds
The Health Secretary has confirmed that supply of vaccines will slow in April due to production and batch retesting issues. However, the rollout is still on track to ensure that people get their second vaccine doses within 12 weeks of the first dose. The Health Secretary also told the House of Commons that we remain on track to meet the targets to:
- offer people in the first 9 priority groups their first dose by 15 April
- offer all adults a vaccine by the end of July.
Commenting James said: "Delivering 25 million first vaccine dose in just 100 days is a huge achievement by the NHS, scientists, pharmaceutical companies, volunteers, councils, and the military. Every jab makes us safer and when you get the letter, call, text, or email please get a jab."
