On Friday, James met some of Hunstanton's Love West Norfolk Heros, who went the extra mile during the lockdown.
James was delighted to meet three independent businesses to hear how they stepped up to deliver to those most vulnerable or hesitant to leave their homes during the height of lockdown. He was joined by local councillor Carol Bower
The Love West Norfolk heroes were all nominated by members of the public for the difference they have been making during the pandemic.
Mr. Bun the Baker, Richard's Butchers, and Kemp's Fruit and Veg all shared stories with James about how demand increased significantly doing lockdown.
Pete and Sophie, at Mr. Bun the Bakers told James that key ingredients such as flour, eggs, and yeast were high in demand.
While Richard, owner of Richard's Butchers showed James the popular weekly meat hamper that he was making and delivering throughout the pandemic.
Leanne at Kemps Fruit and Vegetables was keen to express to James the strong community spirit locally.
James said,"During Covid-19 so many people across West Norfolk stepped up to help others who were vulnerable. That strong sense of community underpins our area and it is great to see those tremendous efforts reflected through the Love West Norfolk heroes awards.”
James thanked them for going the extra mile and supporting the community throughout the pandemic.
