James was pleased to join staff, governors, pupils, and the Bishop of Lynn at the blessing of the new Gayton Primary Academy.
This September, Gayton Primary Academy welcomed pupils onto their new site with a new state-of-the-art building. The project and ambition for the new building had been taking place for ten years, with the old building no longer fit for purpose and located on the busy main road.
The Bishop of Lynn conducted the blessing; James joined head teacher Rachel Greenhalgh and pupils and governors. The library hub is at the heart of the new school, which reflects the pupil's love of reading. The new library was officially opened by Norfolk artist Kieran Williamson, who kindly donated prints of his artwork to the school.
James said:
"Education is fundamental to giving young people the best opportunities in life. The new Gayton primary school provides an excellent place for pupils to learn and grow."
After the blessing, James was given a tour of the school; he was impressed by the facilities and space the children had. He was also impressed to see that the school's trust the Diocese of Norwich had thought about future growth within the village.
