During a statement on the government's Autumn and Winter Covid-19 update, James made the case to the Health Secretary, Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP, that the best way to ensure the NHS can cope with Covid-19 this winter is to increase the vaccine up-take and sharing evidence on what is most effective.
The Health Secretary agreed with James on the importance and ensured him that data is consistently being shared and published. During the question James also highlighted the case for a new QEH which is in need of a rebuild.
James is campaigning for Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be one of eight new hospitals the government has committed to delivering in the second half of the decade and which staff and patients across West Norfolk and beyond deserve.

James Wild MP: "My local hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which as my right hon. Friend knows needs to be rebuilt, currently has 46 covid patients. Is not the best way to ensure that the QEH and the NHS have the capacity to cope with winter pressures to increase the level of vaccine take-up? Will he ensure that evidence of what works in doing that is shared across the country?"
Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP: "I very much agree with my hon. Friend. That is one reason why we are constantly publishing more and more information on the impact and effectiveness of vaccines, including the data from the ONS today, which I referred to earlier."
