Planning for the Future grants of £2,500 to £25,000 are still available through the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership but the money must be spent by 28 February 2022 so businesses should apply without delay.
Cllr Stuart Dark MBE, Leader of the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk and Board member of the New Anglia LEP, said:
"We know the pandemic and the necessary public safety measures introduced to combat it impacted on many of our great local businesses but we are also proud of the support we have given, which has included practical support and more than £70m in grants. These further grants will help businesses to ‘build back better’, which is exactly the kind of opportunity that businesses in West Norfolk need to help them become more resilient and emerge stronger in the long run.”
James said:
"As the economy continues to recover, I encourage businesses to look at whether they can benefit from these grants to help support future growth."
The grants, operated by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership on behalf of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, can be used to pay for up to 75% of capital and revenue costs to help businesses recover, grow and make them resilient against future events.
Applicants will need to show how they have been impacted by COVID-19, what they propose to use the money for, how they think this will help the business and how it will make the business sustainable over the long term. In keeping with the borough’s climate change commitments, applicants will also need to show that they are considering the environmental impact of their operations.
The scheme is particularly aimed at firms in the events sector or involved in supply to the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors. However, enterprises operating outside the business rates system that can demonstrate their income and business activity has been impacted by the restrictions will also be considered.
