James joined Little Discoverers AGM to hear about the support this King's Lynn charity has provided to over 30 vulnerable families in need over the past year.
On Wednesday, James attended his second AGM as MP for North West Norfolk where Little Discoverers Chair and Team Leader set out how it had supported early education for pre-school children with movement difficulties and delayed development in West Norfolk.
Since March 2021 face to face sessions have resumed at the Dutton pavilion at Lynnsport, as well as streaming sessions although Covid restrictions have reduced the number of children in a session. Despite the challenges of Covid over 30 vulnerable families in need have been supported this year.
Due to the restrictions there has been a greater reliance on using technology using videos to show parents activities they can try at home such as speech skills, story massage, fine motor skills, Makaton signs and more. This time last year there had been around 3,500 views on Little Discoverers' videos combined and this year there have been nearly 8,500 views.
James said: "I was looking forward to finding out about the progress the children had made and it was uplifting to hear about the achievements. This is only a small charity but it is making a real difference to the lives of families in West Norfolk and beyond."
