In the House of Commons during the Health questions, James urged ministers to back a new QEH and make decisions to build a hospital fit for the future.
Earlier in the month James invited the Health Minister, Ed Argar MP, to visit the QEH as part of his campaign for it to be selected as one of the eight additional new hospitals the government has committed to as part of the new hospital programme.
James said:
"Before the Jubilee weekend I was pleased to welcome the Minister to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital to see the cracking RAAC planks which the department understands need to be replaced. So will he take the opportunity to build a new QEH hospital fit for the future, and when will the patients and staff know that they're on the list because they're impatient for a decision."
In response Minister for Health, Edward Argar MP said:
"It was a great pleasure to visit my honourable friend before the Jubilee weekend and to meet the staff that do such an amazing job at his local hospital. As ever he puts him case clearly and firmly for a new hospital to replace the QE in King's Lynn and we hope to announce the longlist of those expressions of interest in due course."
