Over 188,000 people across Norfolk and Waveney have been vaccinated including over 90% of over 80 years olds, James has been told during a regular update with Norfolk and Waveney NHS CCG.
Up to 31 January:
- 188,333 people in Norfolk and Waveney have had their first dose, including 64,599 people or 90.6% over 80 year olds.
- 39,654 people aged 75-79 or 81.3% have had their first dose.
- 20,622 people aged 70-74 or 29.4% have had their first dose.
- 63,458 people aged under 70 have had their first dose.
Commenting James said," This is great news, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone playing a crucial role in this programme from those doing the jabs to volunteer stewards, and particularly the brilliant receptionists and practice staff contacting patients and organising appointments."
Norfolk and Waveney is 18th nationally out of 42 in percentage terms of over 80s given their first dose and 3rd out of 42 for overall number of doses given.
This makes Norfolk and Waveney the top performing health system in the East of England region in terms of percentage of over 80s vaccinated and percentage of total adult population vaccinated to date. This is despite having the second highest proportion of over 80s in the country (8.4% compared to the national average of 6.2%.).
Over 12 million people have now received their first vaccination dose.
