James Wild MP for North West Norfolk completed the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon in under four hours and raised £5,922 in sponsorship for three local charities.
He finished the 26.2 mile course in 3 hours 36 minutes and 13 seconds and was one of the 35,833 finishers in the 41st London Marathon. This marathon took place 889 days after the last race was run due to postponements caused by Covid.
Commenting after the race James said:
- “It was a special experience to be part of the London Marathon’s very welcome return after such a long gap. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who sponsored me to raise valuable funds for 3 fantastic local charities. Having that support helped spur me on to complete the course.”
With the closure of the sponsorship the final amounts that James has raised are £2,264 for Little Discoverers, £1,868.41 for Purfleet Trust, and £1,790 for West Norfolk Carers. The amounts include gift aid where relevant.
