Buses between North Wootton and King’s Lynn will be running more regularly thanks to money that Norfolk County Council secured from the Department for Transport (DfT) to improve bus services across the county.
Service 3 the North Wootton Circular which is operated by Go To Town will run three times per hour from Monday 13 November increasing the number of journeys per day from 26 to 35.
This route is part of a comprehensive service in King’s Lynn, along with the recently launched 3H service and gives local residents the option to reduce car use and hope on the bus which is both cheaper and more sustainable.
A single trip on the service will cost just £1.50 under the King’s Lynn flat fares scheme which was introduced by Norfolk County Council earlier this year – also funded by the money secured from the Department for Transport.
This is one of a number of service enhancements which are being funded by the £49.55 million funding which Norfolk County Council was successful in securing from the Department for Transport (DfT) to use on improving bus services across the County over the next three years.
Approximately £12 million of the funding has been allocated to provide new or expanded bus routes and increase service frequencies on key routes, including more evening and weekend services.
