In the House of Commons, the Prime Minister paid tribute to everybody involved in Covid vaccinations in North West Norfolk.
During his statement in the House of Commons on the roadmap for easing lockdown restrictions in England, the Prime Minister thanked everybody involved in the vaccination programme in North West Norfolk.
He was replying to a question from James asking him thank all staff and volunteers at the St James Medical Practice as well as the other vaccination sites in King’s Lynn and Snettisham. Last week James met Kathy Foley, the Practice Manager, and team including some of the 80 volunteers helping to deliver vaccines to over 7,000 people at the site to date.
James highlighted the importance of the successful rollout of the vaccine programme in making it possible to re-open the hospitality sector which is crucial to our local economy. James pointed out that the re-opening of hospitality was slower than some would want.
He also welcomed confirmation that schools would re-open on 8 March with testing and strengthened measures in place.
Speaking in the House of Commons, James said:
"Last week I met Kathy the practice manager and the team including volunteers at St James Medical Practice who have vaccinated thousands of people in North West Norfolk. Will my Right Honourable friend join with me in paying tribute to them and those at other sites in King’s Lynn and Snettisham who are making it possible to re-open our vital hospitality sector - albeit more slowly than some would want - as well as very importantly re-opening our schools and other businesses in the coming weeks?"
In response the Prime Minister said:
“I thank everybody involved in the vaccination programme in North West Norfolk and I thank my honourable friend for championing the vaccinators.”
