With the House of Commons returning on Monday, this week was an opportunity for James to get out and about in North West Norfolk visiting Snettisham Beach Sailing Club.
On Tuesday, James met with Adrian, Commodore at Snettisham Sailing Club and his team of instructors to discuss plans for the future of the club, including upgrading the changing facilities to adequately accommodate the high number of female members, and making sailing accessible to everyone.
During the visit, James had the opportunity to try sailing with Adrian on a wayfarer dingy on Snettisham Beach Sailing Club's lake, and was given a tour of the site afterwards.
Commenting after the visit James said;
"I was pleased to have had the opportunity to visit Snettisham Beach Sailing Club and to try out some sailing as well as discuss plans for future provision. Lots of local schools take part in activities at the club and there is strong youth membership with hundreds of youngsters enjoying the challenge and freedom sailing offers. The club is perhaps unique in having a lake where beginners can learn before moving to the more challenging experience of the sea.”
