North West Norfolk MP James Wild has enjoyed his first to Dodman Limited, a food processing engineering business based on North Lynn Industrial Estate
Dodman Limited is a family business and has a base of highly-skilled engineers in projects, design, manufacture, site services, health & safety, and innovation.
With over 31 years of experience, Dodman Limited now provides food engineering equipment for businesses such as Mars, Greenyard Frozen, and British Sugar, as well exporting internationally
During the visit, James was given a tour of the site by Tim Skerritt, Managing Director where they talked about how the business is going to benefit from the government's super-deduction which will contribute towards a major investment in a new laser cutter.
James also discussed opportunities for school leavers and young people to start a career in engineering, with Dodman Limited having a strong record of taking on apprenticeships. They agreed on the importance of young people being made aware of the opportunities in Lynn with local businesses to help kickstart a hands-on career in practical fields such as engineering.
Commenting after the visit James said:
"Lynn is home to many high quality engineering businesses and I was pleased to hear about Dodman’s plans for growth and making new investment. It was encouraging to focus on skills and how to attract more school leavers and young people into the varied roles that engineering offers locally.”
