James has welcomed True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum in King's Lynn receiving £50,044 of funding as part of the Government's Cultural Investment Fund.
True's Yard Fisherfolk Museum is a socially driven tourist attraction, community hub, and education centre and the funding means that the trustees will be able to tackle urgent repairs to the museum roof.
James said:
"It is good news the True's Yard has received funding from the government's culture support package. This will help ensure more people can come and learn about Lynn's historic fishing community."
The Cultural Investment Fund is the Government's flagship investment in galleries, museums, libraries and other cultural ventures to help improve people's access to the arts and drive economic growth in our thriving cultural sector. Initially announced in late 2019, this package of funding for our cultural infrastructure aims to support locally-led cultural projects, museums, and public libraries. The Government has announced £48 million worth of projects from this fund.
This funding builds on the Government's unprecedented £2 billion Culture Recovery Fund, which has supported our world-leading cultural sector - and the brilliant people who work in it - during the pandemic.
A total of 63 organisations will receive funding in the latest round of investment, improving much-loved public spaces and venues across the country.
