North West Norfolk MP, James Wild, has enjoyed a behind the scenes tour of Williams Refrigeration, based at North Lynn Industrial estate, led by Tim Smith, AFE Group CEO and Managing Director of Williams Refrigeration Group, and his team of site managers.
Williams Refrigeration is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of award-winning professional refrigeration supplying hospitality, hotels, restaurants, retail, stadia, public sector, medical, and other organisations. Driven from their global headquarters in King's Lynn, they have also established manufacturing facilities in China and Australia and sales facilities around the world.
During the visit, James was given a tour of the manufacturing lines producing over 2,500 types of refrigeration units for use in various settings including some of the largest restaurant chain kitchens in the world. He also met the R&D team developing bespoke units for major international businesses and testing and assuring the performance of the refrigerators operating in different temperature climates. As regulated products, the refrigeration units have to meet environmental regulations and James and Tim talked about the shift to net zero and Williams’ Greenlogic sustainability plans.
As one of the largest employers in King's Lynn, the site employees around 250 people, with the vast majority living in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk area. James discussed the various exciting opportunities there are for local young people to pursue careers in specialist manufacturing with Williams currently recruiting for a number of roles in manufacturing, sales, and other parts of the business
Commenting following the visit James said:
