MP visits local Lynn business awards winner GH Hair Design
After first meeting at the West Norfolk Mayor’s Business Awards this year, James Wild MP visited GH Hair Design owned by Gemma Harvey to talk about wellbeing, supporting young people into the sector, and the importance of taking time to switch off.
During James’ visit, Gemma spoke about the business’ focus on relaxation, health, and wellbeing. A local independent salon in King’s Lynn, Gemma takes a unique approach within her business and offers a multitude of treatments to alleviate stress such as yoga, reflexology, and counselling within the same premises as the hair salon. A relaxation lounge offers space for GH Hair Design’s clients to relax.
Discussing James’ visit to GH Hair Design, Gemma said:
“It was a pleasure to meet James Wild MP today to discuss all things business, the importance of wellness and taking care of our own health and wellbeing. How important it is to switch off from the busy world that we are in and the ever growing to do lists.”
Operating for 12 years, GH Hair has several years of experience within the hair industry which Gemma hopes to translate into the next generation. By offering opportunities within her salon and at the College of West Anglia, Gemma hopes to provide invaluable experience and advice to the next generation of salon professionals which she discussed with James.
James commented:
“It was great to visit GH Hair Design to talk about how Gemma has grown the business and understand more about the beauty and health industry from a local perspective. Life is busy for everyone so I was pleased to hear Gemma’s perspective on how she incorporates a wellbeing focus within the beauty industry. The relaxation lounge does exactly what is says on the tin!”
