James Wild MP joined his colleague Matt Warman MP in Boston to meet with the Fisheries Minister and fishermen from the Wash area.
James joined local fishermen to talk about the management and sustainability of the Wash fisheries with Minister of State for Food, Farming and Fisheries Rt Hon Mark Spencer MP.
The roundtable meeting was held in Boston quay with Matt Warman MP for Boston and Skegness who James has been working closely with to highlight issues of concern to the fishing industry to the Department of the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs. Lynn fisherman Neil Lake of John Lake Shellfish took part in the meeting.
Among the topics covered was consultation with the industry, the Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (EIFCA) which is responsible for inshore fisheries and environmental management along the Lincs, Norfolk & Suffolk coast, the proposed new fishing by-law, sustainability, and skills.
