On Monday, as a member of the Public Accounts Committee, James led questioning of the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government on the government's efforts to tackle rough-sleeping during Covid-19.
Over 33,139 people were helped into accommodation through the Everyone In initiative and 23,273 of them have been moved into more settled accommodation.
During his questions, James referred to the work of the Purfleet Trust and focused on the importance of wraparound support for vulnerable people to help them stay in accommodation. The government has pledged to end rough-sleeping by the end of this Parliament.
James also challenged officials on the need to provide for long term funding for local authorities and charities to help end rough-sleeping and spoke about the longer term accommodation King's Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council is providing in partnership with Broadland Housing.
James also raised the issue of vaccinating vulnerable groups of rough-sleepers .
