James welcomes National Careers Week 2021, the annual celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK.
The aim of National Careers Week is to provide a focus for careers guidance activity at an important stage in the academic calendar to help support young people leaving education.
National Careers Week have organised an online careers fair running from 1st March- 6th March with a different theme each day.

- Tuesday- Careers at sea
- Wednesday- Health careers
- Thursday- Skills builder
- Friday- BBC

Locally in North West Norfolk, the College of West Anglia have been participating remotely by hosting webinars with guest speakers relevant to students courses. On Tuesday, graphic design students had the opportunity to speak with Mark Backler, Co-founder of Game Anglia. Mark spoke to the students about his background in gaming companies and have an insight into the skills needed for a career in games, as well as the benefits of participating on the course.
The College of West Anglia has also been organising an online careers clinic with a dedicated team to help students make those all-important choices by offering impartial, individual information, advice and guidance to enable students to make informed decisions and plan for their futures.
The careers clinic will take place on 9th March virtually with slots available between 5pm-8pm. Anyone wishing to attend will need to book a slot here.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital have also been supporting National Careers Week by celebrating the wide range of careers in health care, hospitality, HR & domestic services it has to offer. The new School of Nursing due to open in September will provide apprenticeships and training for students at the College of West Anglia in partnership with QEH to kickstart their nursing careers.
